How your data stays private

Your cumulative trip history is saved only in this browser, using a browser storage feature called IndexedDB — the same kind of local storage your browser uses for offline web apps. It is never written to a database on this server, and there's no account for it to be attached to.

When you add trips or view your report, your EC_database.db and/or cumulative data are sent once to the server just long enough to calculate the numbers. The server works on a temporary copy, sends the result straight back to your browser, and deletes that temporary copy immediately — nothing is written to permanent storage or logged.

Your electricity rates and comparison settings are saved the same way, in this browser's local storage.

You're in full control of the local copy at any time: Backup downloads it as a file, Restore merges a backup back in (handy when switching devices), and Delete this profile's data wipes it from this browser for good.
